SEGA keeps quiet.
SEGA has refused to comment on an online report that The Conduit developer High Voltage Software is making the Wii version of Captain America: The First Avenger.
Website SEGAbits claims SEGA drafted High Voltage in to make the 2011 movie tie-in because it “was apparently happy with what they did with Iron Man 2″.
The Wii version of Iron Man 2, which High Voltage created, currently has a Metacritic review score average of 41 out of 100.
Activision won’t do original “justice”.
Martin Hollis, he who made the original GoldenEye for N64, thinks there may be a strong whiff of money up Activision’s nostrils when it comes to the new GoldenEye 007 Wii remake.
Speaking to Official Nintendo Magazine, Hollis said he’d be surprised if anyone at the publisher was bothered about doing the original game “justice”.
“I imagine it is a business decision, isn’t it?” he opened. “This name is valuable, let’s use it.
On a new, unannounced game.
Square Enix has signed up to develop an as yet unnamed game with an as yet unnamed studio based on the West coast of the US.
According to Siliconera, the unannouncement came during a conference in Yokohama.
The project is described as large scale and the game will be aimed at core players. Squenix is hoping it will be a triple-A title with a Metacritic score of over 90.
Plus: new control systems promised.
The sequel to Wii shooter Conduit won’t be released until the first quarter of 2011.
That’s according to Nintendojo, which notes the game was due to arrive on 2nd November.
The good news is some new control systems are promised for Conduit 2. You’ll be able to use the Classic Controller and Wii MotionPlus. The game will also work with the standard remote and nunchuk.
To include Mario History book/soundtrack.
Japanese retailers have reportedly leaked news that Nintendo will launch a Wii version of the Super Nintendo’s Super Mario All-Stars compilation next month.
Andriasang reports that retailers were briefed on Super Mario Collection Special Pack today and that it is a revival of All-Stars, which included Super Mario Bros. 1, 2 and 3 plus The Lost Levels on a single cartridge.
Apparently the game is due out on 21st October for 2500 yen (£19 / 23) and will also come with a Super Mario History 1985-2010 booklet and a soundtrack CD covering the entire series right up to Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Car racing for early 2011.
RedLynx, the Finnish mastermind behind Trials HD, has announced MotoHeroz for an early 2011 release on WiiWare.
MotoHeroz is cartoon-style platform racer that requires cars to be tilted back and forward to clear 2D stages, a bit like Trials HD.
This time, however, the emphasis is on racing, and there’s local multiplayer for up to four on one screen – the person that falls behind gets eliminated by the left-hand side of the screen.
